So, having read Evershore first is going to make the epilogue less surprising, for sure, but the problem is that, with no disrespect intended to Brandon, the novellas are better than Cytonic IMO. I think it's mostly that Brandon first wrote it this way, without the novellas, and he hopes people would experience the effect of the epilogue from Spensa's viewpoint rather than already having knowledge of it. Cytonic has substantial spoilers for Evershore, but the effect is intended in this case. Now, Brandon's intent is clearly that Cytonic should be read before Evershore, but some fans are bold enough to disagree with him on this. The originally published order was Sunreach, ReDawn, Cytonic, and Evershore, and the intention was that most people would read in that order. I think Brandon is mostly saying that, if you're reading them in print form, you're probably going to want to read the three novellas as one book, one after the next. Produces: Brandon is a robot!
